Back to this week’s feature! Let’s get to know our crush, Kang Daniel! Kang Daniel is famous as an all-rounder soloist, actor, self-made CEO, and much more in Korea. Many fans also know him from his memorable time on “Produce 101 Season 2” and as a member of the iconic boy group Wanna One. This article is for all of the DANITY (Kang Daniel’s fandom) who are always leading the parade to celebrate Kang Daniel’s perfection, and for those who have yet to discover his charm but will become DANITY very soon. Everyone deserves to know the charming being that is Kang Daniel. If you are new to Kang Daniel, here is some basic information about him. Kang Daniel was born on December, 10 in 1996. His journey as a trainee was not the smoothest for a number of reasons at first. However, he persevered and continued practicing despite not knowing when his hard work would pay off. He later joined “Produce 101 Season 2” where he would go on to blow fans away with his talents. He worked his way to the top ranks of the show and eventually started trending as one of the most popular contestants. During his time on the show, he earned volumes of praise for his abilities, expressions, dance lines, and his accurate sense of rhythm. One trainer said that Kang Daniel has great stage dominance and was developing at a fast pace due to his extraordinary passion. Another said that they were impressed by his sincerity. Many considered him a dark horse (someone who is underestimated at first but proceeds to win/succeed) as he rose to the top. He was even the center for the iconic ‘It’s Me (Pick Me)’ and took first place out of all of the contestants on the show.
At this time, his unofficial fandom name was ‘Peach(es)’. This was an affectionate name that was born as a result of Kang Daniel’s hairstyle when he appeared on the show. He had pink hair which contrasted his pale complexion and complemented his bunny-toothed smile, too. These traits reminded fans of the Kakao Friends character called Apeach. This earned Kang Daniel the nickname ‘Prince Apeach’. In fact, this nickname later earned him the opportunity to collaborate with the brand. Kang Daniel made the final lineup of contestants from the show, debuting as part of Wanna One in 2017. During his time in the group is when he really took off in terms of getting recognition for his talents. He kept showing fans a better side of himself as an artist with each performance. Kang Daniel also has numerous writing credits for his work as a solo artist. In 2019, Kang Daniel elevated to another level becoming the founder and CEO of his own agency called Konnect Entertainment. He made his solo debut in 2019 and has been gifting our ears with the best music ever since. Let’s take a look at his talents individually. Kang Daniel’s dance style is the perfect balance between powerful and delicate. Additionally, he has elegant dance lines and pays great attention to details in choreography. The power stems from his background as a B-boy. He started B-boying in middle school and even majored in modern dance in high school, giving him the best of both dance abilities. He is known for having been dedicated to dance since a young age. In fact, he used to train at a dance academy until late at night. His instructor at the academy lived in the same direction as him so they would often leave together after the academy closed for the night. The same instructor credits Kang Daniel’s success to his diligence at the time. This is just one aspect of his duality. Kang Daniel is known for being able to swiftly transition from cute to sexy. He has overflowing charm, regardless of the concept or performance. Cute Kang Daniel is puppy-like and encompassed in his adorable smile.
In fact, he once went viral for his resemblance to the Samoyed dog. It was to the point where if you searched the word ‘Samoyed’ on Naver (Korea’s famous search engine), Kang Daniel’s name would come up as a related search term.
Sexy Kang Daniel is like a lethal dose of magnetism. He can draw you into his aura and make you stay there in pure fascination, wondering how someone can be so alluring.
When it comes to vocals, Kang Daniel has an alluring mid-low-pitched voice. He has a distinct vocal tone and a husky voice that bears a different charm depending on if he is rapping or singing. He has had numerous entertainment schedules and promotional activities as an MC, variety-dol, on radio, in commercials, and more. At this point, it seems like there is nothing that he can’t do. He is a true industry all-rounder. With numerous brand deals and having won a number of awards, Kang Daniel’s career path is clear: upwards. He can only go onwards and upwards from here!
We can’t forget his handsome visuals. He is known as the ‘pictorial master’ as he has been featured in several magazines including big names such as GQ, ELLE, Marie Claire, VOGUE, COSMOPOLITAN, etc. His model-like proportions, fit body, and broad shoulders all add to his overall visual prowess. Kang Daniel is also known for his humble and polite personality. Regardless of his huge success, he has always remained down-to-earth. If you want to fall head over heels for Kang Daniel’s natural charm, you should watch him on the variety show “It’s Dangerous Beyond The Blankets”. The program shows a number of celebrities living as homebodies and showing a charm we don’t usually get from their onstage/on-screen personas. Kang Daniel had many viral moments from the show, as he showed many a different side to him. Even his fellow cast members showered him in praise for his sweet personality. They used words like: pure, energy booster, comfortable, and more. He is also known for his charitable deeds and charity work. Kang Daniel is extremely generous and has assisted some very important causes. His big heart extends to DANITY as well. The fandom is known for running a number of charity projects, too.
