“Sweet Home” is an apocalyptic horror, based on the webtoon of the same name. The webtoon itself has over 2.1 billion views. The story displays a dystopian world, where an unknown phenomenon begins to turn humans into deadly monsters and the world is in chaos.
Though there is no confirmed date for the release of the new seasons, the show is likely to air in 2023. It is said that both the seasons will be filmed back to back and the show will be available on Netflix. Season 1 closed on a cliffhanger with many questions unanswered and fans have made assumptions of their own as to what the other seasons will have in store. Here is what fans wish to see in season 2 and season 3 of “Sweet Home”. The article contains spoilers for season 1.
1. Answers For All The Questions Left In “Sweet Home” Season 1
“Sweet Home” season 1 ended with the shelter homes being destroyed and the inhabitants being taken away by the army. We also see Cha HyunSoo (Song Kang) wake up in a van with a scarless Pyun SangWook (Lee JinWook) driving the van. The scene raised many questions as to where exactly the van is headed to. SangWook had been shown as a mysterious character since the beginning, his back story was unknown and he also seemed to be aware of the situation already, as the man he had kidnapped also turned into a monster. Fans wish to have SangWook’s story revealed in season 2 and more about his true identity. A question about the army also stands. We are unsure if they really are ‘safe’ and what their objectives are. Their role, too, was kept quite mysterious in season 1.
2. Fans Wish To See Romance Bloom Between Cha HyunSoo (Song Kang) And Lee EunYu (Go MinSi) In “Sweet Home” 2 and 3
“Sweet Home” season 1 gave us a subtle romance between Cha HyunSoo and Lee EunYu (Go MinSi). From their first meeting, when Cha HyunSoo was about to jump off the cliff, his eyes landed on a dancing EunYu. He is enchanted by the sight and soon finds himself not thinking about suicide anymore. Later in the show, EunYu too shows interest in him and we also do get the hint that she likes him. Oh, and fans cannot forget the precious moment between them in episode 9 when EunYu makes him promise, without really telling them what the promise was about.
4. Fans Wish To See More Of Seo YiKing’s (Lee SiYoung) Story
Seo YiKing (Lee SiYoung) is one of the strongest characters on the show. Seo YiKing was a firefighter who had lost her fiance long before the world changed. Yet it was also revealed in season 1 that her husband knew about the phenomenon. He had written about it in his blog and even his death was mysterious. Seo YiKing was also one of the daring ones on the team. With her now in the army too, we wish to see more action-packed scenes of her fighting off monsters. Yet fans also wish to see the baby in the next season that was mentioned before. Viewers are curious to see how she will be as a mother as she does hesitate to show any sort of maternal affection towards the unborn baby in season 1.
5. Fans Wish To See EunYu And JiSu (Park GyuYoung) Friendship’s Development
Fans are glad to find that Park GyuYoung and Go MinSi will be making a comeback in other seasons. In “Sweet Home” season 1, their characters EunYu and EunYu started by not really liking eachother, yet by the time they did grow close. When JiSu gets sick, EunYu grows worried instantly and was even there to assist them. Fans really loved their relationship and wish to see more of them in season 2 and 3 and with more scenes involving them working together. Though in season 1, JiSu was one of the ones in charge of managing the greenhouse. We hope to see EunYu stepping up beside her too.
6. Fans Wish To See EunHyuk (Lee DoHyun)
EunHyuk (Lee DoHyun) is EunYu’s brother. Although they are not really related by blood, he seems to care for her. EunHyuk is shown as a genius medical student who instantly took the position of leading the house, managing the rations and duties whilst he stayed on surveillance. He also conducted JiSu’s surgery when her appendix swelled up. By the end of season 1, EunHyuk stays back when the green house is collapsed whilst he is made sure that she escaped. When the green house collapses, EunYu too mourns her brother and so do the viewers. He is shown bleeding which is similar to the way the infected ones did. Though in the revealed cast, Lee DoHyun was not present, we really wish to see his return. And wonder if he would also be another exception, like HyunSoo, or turn completely?
