This series is celebrating all of the different friendships that exist in K-Pop. We will look at some of the moments when K-Pop idols showed off their close friendships with one another. SHINee’s Key and Girls’ Generation’s TaeYeon started off the series for us, followed by ASTRO’s Cha EunWoo, SEVENTEEN’s MinGyu, and the 97 liners and PENTAGON’s Kino and WOODZ. This month, readers voted for BLACKPINK’s Lisa, GOT7’s BamBam, and the Thai line in our monthly poll (at the end of the article) to be featured in this month’s article. If you are a new K-Pop fan you might not know how their friendship started. Let’s take a look back at their friendship. Lisa and BamBam are each famous for their solo activities and their roles in their respective K-Pop groups BLACKPINK and GOT7. They are both the only Thai idols in their respective groups. Their friendship group with other idols from Thailand is affectionately nicknamed ’the Thai line’ and their group chat includes NCT’s Ten, former CLC member Sorn, 2PM’s NickHun, and (G)I-DLE’s Minnie. Lisa and BamBam actually met back in Thailand. They were part of a dance group called We Zaa Cool. They were the same age at the time but BamBam thought that Lisa was older because of her tall height. Their families have also been friends ever since. The two made their respective debuts in Korea and stayed in touch as close friends through it all. In an interview, BamBam revealed that they didn’t know each other were moving to Korea and that when they were little, he never would have imagined how close they’d be. As both of them are extremely popular, they have even done projects together such as this commercial for the Thai company AIS’ 5G campaign.
They even performed a collaborative stage together with other Thai artists.
BamBam shared that he let Lisa listen to his solo debut mini-album “riBBon” before it came out and Lisa commented that the song has an addictive factor that she likes. Lisa also listened to his highlight medley and chose ‘Pandora’ as her favorite song. Here is the music video for ‘riBBon’. BamBam has just come back with a new single called ‘Slow Mo’ too.
