The members have been extremely busy with individual activities including radio and talk shows, creating web content, modeling for clothing and cosmetics brands, filming documentaries, web drama filming, and much more.  Amidst that, on Nov. 17, they released the teaser for ‘Rush Hour’. It showed the members in a desert location wearing cowboy-inspired outfits. The sound of a desolate whistle foreshadowed a powerful transition into racer attire and an intense beat.

“No Limit” has 7 tracks on it. The first song is the title song ‘Rush Hour’ which brings back the energy that is always associated with MONSTA X. JooHoney and I.M worked on the lyrics, with JooHoney also helping with the composition and arrangement. The second song is ‘Autobahn’ which was co-written by I.M and JooHoney, co-composed and co-arranged by I.M. The song is a metaphor for MONSTA X’s love of MONBEBE (their fandom) which is comparable to the famous limitless high-speed highway, the Autobahn.  The third song is called ‘Ride with U’ JooHoney and I.M contributed to the lyrics of this track, too. It is a feel-good song that would put you in a good mood if you go on a drive or on your daily commute to work. The fourth song is ‘Got me in chains’. It is a mix of R&B and dance music. KiHyun described it as a song where when the members’ voices and the beat combine, it gives off a sexy vibe.  The fifth song is ‘Just love’ I.M described it as a song that is all about giving your best in love at the moment and not feeling any regret towards the emotion.  The sixth song ‘Mercy’ was co-written, co-composed, and co-arranged by HyungWon. JooHoney and I.M contributed to the lyrics, too. ‘Mercy’ is a song that carries strong but dark emotions. HyungWon said he made the song to listen to when you are feeling a similar emotion. It will comfort you by giving you sympathy.  The final track is ‘I got love’. JooHoney described it as a song that makes you feel warm.  MONSTA X held a media showcase that Kpopmap was invited to and shared more about their album and comeback. Here is everything that you need to know. The members started the showcase by performing their B-side track ‘Ride with U’. The song started with an impact as I.M showed off his vocals and proved once again that MONSTA X’s rap line is also talented when it comes to singing. The members performed to the groovy rhythm of the song. It would make anyone want to bop along to it. In fact, even though the members were sitting down, they couldn’t help but dance in their seats.  Then it was time to talk about the preparations for this comeback. The members shared that although they couldn’t hold as many performances due to the pandemic, they have been doing a lot of individual activities to keep communication strong between them and MONBEBE.  The members shared that they wanted to show off MONSTA X’s signature powerful sound and intense energy through this comeback. When asked if they could describe this album in one word, they used keywords such as overflowing and universally liked.  They performed their title track ‘Rush Hour’ and it definitely matched expectations. The performance was strong and even had endearing attention to detail. One of the most endearing detailed aspects was the point choreography. Although ShowNu could not perform with them, they made sure to add a bit of him to their performance. Their point choreography is called the ’lamb skewer dance’. It’s inspired by a viral GIF of ShowNu making a sign to go eat lamb skewers. He makes a sign similar to an ‘okay’ sign and pulls it across his teeth.  You can watch the full music video for ‘Rush Hour’ here. See if you can spot the point choreography.

After the performance, MinHyuk reminisced about the most memorable thing that happened related to filming their music video. He said that when he got home and removed his makeup, it came off with grains of sand from the desert too. It had been a while since they’d done a location shoot and he said that this detail would make him never forget it. The members shared more of their thoughts about this comeback. JooHoney explained that although their previous album “One Of A Kind” focused on trying to show new charms of MONSTA X, “No Limit” is trying to show their confidence and how MONSTA X will go their own way.  Kpopmap asked:   Just like your album name, you are known as a group with no limits. Is there a new goal that you want to achieve musically or through other parts of the industry?   Of course, we want to achieve good results on various charts and things like that. However, more than physical achievements, we want people who watch our performance to say, “MONSTA X did MONSTA X.” We want them to acknowledge that we did our best in showing our colors our way. JooHoney   The MONSTA X members have a lot of exciting promotions coming up, including a movie called “MONSTA X: THE DREAMING” that will be released in theaters worldwide in December. Make sure to stay tuned to their promotions.  Are you enjoying their comeback?
